Mark Evans, estranged father of popular singer, Adele has passed away at 57 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Evans’ demise had come despite an unresolved face-off between him and the music star.
Adele was reportedly three-year-old when her father left Penny, her mother, and returned to his native home in Wales.
The development had climaxed into years of heated feud which was said to have worsened in 2011 following Adele’s increased prominence in the global music landscape.
During her speech at the 2017 Grammy Awards, the ‘Rolling In The Deep’ crooner had stunned the audience when she declared that “I don’t love my dad.”
“Thank you to my manager because the comeback, as it were, was completely masterminded by him. And you executed it incredibly, and I owe you everything,” she had said.
“We’ve been together for ten years, and I love you like you’re my dad. I love you so, so much. I don’t love my dad, that’s the thing. That doesn’t mean a lot. I love you like I would love my dad.”
But according to The Sun UK, the 33-year-old British songstress will be upset by news of his estranged father’s demise despite the issue between them.
“Mark’s family are of course very upset by his passing. He always hoped things would work out with Adele, but it remained acrimonious to the end,” the outlet quoted a source as saying.
“He made a few attempts to make things right, but clearly it had been too long.”
As at the time of filing this report, Adele has not reacted to Evans’ demise.
