A new flick ‘The Girl in the spider’s web’ has started generating thick buzz in Nigeria and film lovers are already sharing their rave reviews about the movie.
Hosted by Silverbird Film Distribution,movie buffs and members of the press had the privilege of seeing the movie on the 9th of November 2018 at Ozone Cinemas Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.
Nibbling away on crunchy popcorns and savouring chilled soft drinks, the selected media personalities were excited to share their favourite parts of the movie.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web is a 2018 American crime thriller directed by Fede Álvarez and written by Steven Knight. The movie is a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the second installment in the American-produced Millennium film series. It stars Claire Foy, taking over the role of Lisbeth Salander from Rooney Mara, and follows Salander as she tries to rescue and exact vengeance for battered women. Sverrir Gudnason, LaKeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks, and Stephen Merchant also appear in the film.
The movie tells the story of a young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist who find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.
The prologue has Lisbeth Salander escape the clutches of an abusive father, leaving her twin sister behind and the action resumes in present day Stockholm where Salander is courted to help protect a scientist (Stephen Merchant) who has created Firefall, a computer program that could be weaponized to bring about catastrophe should it get into the wrong hands.
This flick will get you paying attention from the very first scene till the end.It’s the kind of movie where the plot structure gets you immersed in what is to happen next.
