Oba Otudeko, founder and chairman of Honeywell Group, and also the chairman of FBN Holdings Plc, was Thursday shielded from camera after a stalled Court hearing and sandwiched into his Range Rover SUV, parked outside the Court premises.
Otudeko was summoned by Justice Mohammed Idris, at the instance of Ecobank Plc to testify in a suit between one his companies, Anchorage Nigeria Limited, and the bank, over alleged N5.5 billion debt.
The trial was however stalled arising from objection raised by the Ecobank Plc’s lawyer, A. O. Divine, who informed the court that Otudeko’s statement on oath was served on him while in court earlier in the day
Otudeko’s lawyer, Olabode Olanipekun, had told the court that despite the decision of Ecobank Plc’s lawyer not to examine Otudeko on his statement on oath, the court should allow him to crossexamine the witness (Otudeko) on the statement.

Following hairsplitting argument from both parties on Otudeko’s statement on oath, the presiding judge adjourned the matter till February 14, for both parties to address the court on the Otudeko’s statement on oath.
After the adjournment both parties came out of the courtroom, however Otudeko’s aides frustrated TV cameras and Reporters who wanted to record his presence in Court as they circled round him untill he entered his Range Rover SUV.
Oba Otudeko, was summoned by the court, during Tuesday’s proceedings, to give evidence, in relation to an alleged N5.5billion debt allegedly owed Ecobank Nigeria Plc.
