Businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, who is on trial for the alleged manslaughter of his late wife, Abimbola, has lamented over how his friends have distanced themselves from him.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that IVD is the Chief Executive Officer of IVD Autos Limited and has also invested in real estate and entertainment.
The business mogul (IVD) was accused by the family of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna of killing their daughter. He was dragged to court after a complaint was filed against him by the sister of the late Bimbo.
On the 31st of January, 2023 IVD appeared in court and IVD was reportedly charged with involuntary manslaughter by Lagos State following details leading to his wife, Bimbo’s death.
Following the incident and his issue at court, IVD has lamented about how his rich friends and family have distanced themselves from him over a “little” issue. According to him, no one has come close to him or asked him how he’s faring.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that IVD was recently arraigned before Justice Nicole-Clay of a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the alleged manslaughter of his late wife, Abimbola.
Abimbola died in a fire incident at their residence in the Lekki area of the state on October 2022.
The Lagos state government charged IVD to court on one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No LD/21055C/23.
At the resumed hearing of the case on Monday March 20, the prosecuting counsel, Adeshola Bello, told the court that there was a mix-up in the date the alleged offence was committed.
“We have on record October 10 but the date was October 12,” Bello said.
The prosecution counsel then urged the court to grant the prosecution permission to enable them to make an amendment, which the court granted. He told the court that the alleged offence committed contravened Section 229 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
