The leader of Labour Party, Keir Starmer has officially been appointed as the Prime Minister of United Kingdom.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that his appointment becomes official after an audience with King Charles.
Earlier, Rishi Sunak resigned as Prime Minister and Conservative Leader after taking responsibility for the brutal loss in the General Election.
Sunak who also confirmed he would stand down as Conservative Party leader when “arrangements are in place’’ thanked staff and Conservative candidates.
He said: “I will shortly be seeing His Majesty the King to offer my resignation as Prime Minister.
“To the country, I would like to say first and foremost, I am sorry. I have given this job my all, but you have sent a clear signal that the Government of the United Kingdom must change. And yours is the only judgment that matters.
“I have heard your anger, your disappointment, and I take responsibility for this loss.”
The Conservative Party in the UK was roundly defeated by the Labour Party in the result announced today.
UK Labour Party candidate, Starmer was declared winner and Sunak has accepted defeat.
