Doku’s pace, composure and dribbling skills helped the Citizens run over the Cherries  at the Etihad stadium on Saturday afternoon in what seem like a one sided affair.

The French forward, scored one and set up anothear four to condemn the Cherries to a humiliating defeat at Etihad.

The reigning Premier League champions dominated from the start, but came up against a stubborn block of a defence who refused to give away a clear chance. That was until Doku provided the spark City were missing, playing a neat one-two with Rodri to get into a dangerous area and smash in the opening goal.

Just three minutes later, the Belgian winger found himself on the right wing and cut in to dazzle the Bournemouth defence before finding Bernardo Silva with a perfectly weighted pass for the second goal. Doku thought he had a second goal when he lashed in from the edge of the box, but his effort was going wide until it struck Manuel Akanji’s back and deflected beyond the goalkeeper.

Upon resumption of second half, Doku kept up his tempo and linked up well with substitute Phil Foden, setting up  the England man up to finish it off just after the hour mark.

He was  involved in his team’s fifth with a smashing pass for Bernardo Silva to chip it in after Luis Sinisterra had pulled one back for the visitors.

Not everything revolved around Doku in the end, though, as Oscar Bobb, almost immediately after coming on, sent in a great cross for Nathan Ake to head in the sixth for City.

Elsewhere at Bramall Lane,  Sheffield United secured their first Premier League win of the season in dramatic fashion as Oliver Norwood’s last-gasp penalty secured a 2-1 win against Wolves.

After a disjointed first-half performance, the Blades were much improved after the break and made their dominance count. Cameron Archer (72) thundered home a superb effort off the underside of the crossbar to see the hosts deservedly ahead.

But Wolves hit back in the 89th minute. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s shot on the turn was deflected in, however, Sheffield United captain Norwood stepped up to convert a dying minute penalty to give the blades their first win of the season.

At Goodison park, Ashley Young scores 84th minute  own goal as Sean Dyche’s side are held to draw despite Vitaliy Mykolenko’s effort in the seventh minute of the encounter.

The hosts raced into a seventh-minute lead when Vitalii Mykolenko scored just his second goal for the club, but   Kaoru Mitoma’s cross was deflected off the unfortunate Young and looped over Jordan Pickford with six minutes of normal time remaining.
