Ex-Minister for Youth & Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung buried the remains of his deceased parents together in one graveyard in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday.
The journey to their final home was at Air Force Base Hospital at about 6 am where the two deceased lovers kick start in companies of mourners to commit to them to the Mother Earth at Sabongida village on Saturday, Dec. 23.
Former sports minister Dalung’s mother, and father were buried in his village amid celebration by Tarok-speaking natives while the church prize prayed for the final departure of the two deceased parents.
“You would recall that the mother of Solomon Dalung, former Minister of Youth and Sports died on 30th November, and followed by his father, who died on 18 December, were all laid to rest together on Saturday in his Sabongida village, Langtang South LGA, Plateau State”.
The former minister’s aged parents died barely 18 days in between and this created a vacuum position to be filled.
“Dalung’s late mother Mrs. Nalkat Yah Chiram, died at the age of 90 after a brief illness, while his father Mr. William Fabong Dalung, died at the age of 105 after a protracted illness.
The funeral service for Dalung’s deceased parents took place at Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) RCC Sabongida, Langtang South, attracted a large crowd”.
Dignitaries who graced the funeral to sympathize with the Dalungs included the 2023 presidential candidate of his party, SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
Others were senators Napoleon Bali and Peter Mba; FCT Permanent Secretary; Lt. Col. Mutum and Hon. Mutum Rims, among others.
