Instagram has taken down the account of Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant.
The chief executive officer of (CEO) of IPI Group broke the news on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
“They’ve taken down my Instagram too. This could happen to anyone for voicing out contrary opinions. More reasons why we should work excellently on Crowwe,” he wrote.
An investigation by TheNewsGuru revealed his account has indeed been removed from the platform.
Search for his handle, @adamugarbaii, only displayed a blank page with a succinct post which read “user not found.”
The occurence however, comes amid the condemnations trailing his support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria.
It also comes days after Google deleted Crowwe, his instant messaging and financial transaction app, from its Playstore.
Garba had earlier accused Twitter of being “an anti-Nigerian force,” adding that the platform has been pushing for the country’s destruction in the last two years.
“Yes, I’m happy. Seriously. It is clearly showing that actions cannot just happen without consequences,” he had said.
“Twitter, if you studied their move for the last two years, they have been more of an anti-Nigerian force, for the destruction of Nigeria than actually a platform that’s supposed to advocate for freedom of expression of Nigeria
