Kidnapped House of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde, has been freed.
The lawmaker was abducted along the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Tuesday, May 30, while returning to the nation’s capital after a trip to Kano.
Durbunde’s aide, Tunde Adela, was said to have confirmed the release of his boss, but declined to go into details.
The Cable, citing a source, said that the legislator paid an undisclosed ransom before he was released.
Durbunde represents Takai/Sumaila federal constituency of Kano State at the lower legislative chamber.
He had served as a commissioner in the administration of Rabiu Kwakwanso, former governor of Kano.
