Reactions have trailed the nominations of Nigerian actors at the 8th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA)
Adesua Wellington and Etim Effiong announced the nominees for each category on Saturday night,
Funke Akindele bagged nine nominations, including Best Actress, Best Movie for ‘Omo Ghetto’
Also, Osas Ighodaro, Bisola Jayeola, Diane Russet were not left out as they also got their first nominations.

Also, Bisola Jayeola, actress and former BBNaija housemate got nominated for three awards: Best Actress in a Drama, Comedy and Best supporting actress.
Reacting, Bisola on her Instagram page, said being nominated for the first time in three categories is a big deal for her.
Osas Ighodaro wrote: Jesus!! I’ve been nominated for an AMVCA – Best Actress in a Drama!! Jesus! Dreams come true! Thank you.Mommy, this is for you.”
Funke Akindele, with nine nominations took to her Instagram writing: I’m so gassed right now thank you.”
She wrote: “La familia, your baby girl got 3 nominations ‘Best Actress in a Drama, Best actress in a comedy and Best supporting actress.
“This is my first time being nominated for The AMVCA’s and I got 3 nominations, This is a big deal for me and I super happy and excited.
AMVCA also announced that the viewers will decide a total of 12 categories while the awards’ panel headed by seasoned filmmaker, Victor Okhai, will select the other 21 categories.
This winner of the Pepsi-sponsored Best Soundtrack category will take home N1 million
Meanwhile, voting lines in the different categories for favorite actors or movies have been declared open on Africa Magic till the main event on May 14th, 2022.
