…Management refuses to shut down over fear of negative publicity
By Emman Ovuakporie
There is pandemonium at the Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS headquarters as three staff test positive for Covid-19.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reliably gathered that three staff of the apex revenue generating agency in Nigeria tested positive for coronavirus in if its offices located in Zone 3, Abuja.
The source who spoke to TNG under the condition of anonymity said:
“After it was confirmed that three of their staff were positive, the management refused to shut down operations for fear of negative publicity it will generate.
“Can you imagine the risk other staff will have to undergo because of fear that if the place is shut down it will lead to bad image?
“I am beginning to wonder whether Covid-19 is now a stigma that they have to risk the lives of so many staff in the name of negative publicity, the source wondered.
Recall that the agency’s office located in Jos was shut down when some staff tested positive recently.
