The Senate is in executive session on Tuesday on what appears to be deliberation on Coronavirus (COVID-19).
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the upper chamber went into the session at about 10:45a.m shortly after the President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan walked into the chamber.
From all indications, the upper chamber may suspend plenary as measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Already, the Federal Government had on Monday, suspended the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting indefinitely.
The government had also postponed Council of State meeting and closed all land borders.
The Federal Government had earlier directed all public servants on Salary Grade Level 12 and below to work from home in the interim.
The government had also announced that it would enforce social distancing policy, especially on gatherings above 50 persons in attendance.
