Champions Manchester City have returned to the summit of the English Premier League after dispatching Everton 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Goals from Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus gave Pep Guardiola’s men the win that put them on the roof of the EPL table with 62 points.
The Manchester club had earlier reduced Liverpool’s lead to two points after seeing offArsenal at the Etihad Stadium last Sunday.
And with Liverpool playing a 1-1 draw with 12th-placed West Ham United on Monday, Guardiola’s men needed a win against the Toffees to take charge of the table.
