Health worker, three others killed as bandits strike again in Kaduna

Bandits have killed four people, including a health worker, in Igabi and Jema’a local government areas of Kaduna State, leaving three others with gunshot wounds.
The incidents occurred at Unguwan Lalle village, Igabi LGA and Niima Clinic in Golgofa village in Jema’a LGA, Kaduna government officials confirm.
A statement issued by the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, stated that the bandits in Igabi had initially attempted to barricade the Kwanar Tsintsiya road, along the Kaduna-Zaria highway, but were repelled by troops and vigilante patrols.
Aruwan said based on security reports, as the bandits retreated to their camp, they attacked Unguwan Lalle village and killed three people identified as Dayyabu Yarima, Dalhatu Ashiru and Suleiman Samatu on Monday night.
He said in another incident, troops of Operation Safe Haven reported that gunmen attacked Niima Clinic in Golgofa village, Jema’a local government area, late Monday night and killed a staff of the clinic was killed while three others sustained gunshot injuries.
“Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted the reports with sadness and prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed, while sending condolences to their families. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery,” he said.
