In line with President Muhammadu Buhari directives to ensure that all agencies under the supervision of a ministry are efficient and effective in service delivery to Nigerians, Pantami summoned the management of the NCC.

Recall that early last month, the Minister had directed the commission to bring to an end the issue of sales of improperly registered SIM cards; stem the tide of and sanction illegal deduction of the data of subscribers and also work towards the downward review of the cost of data and ensure compliance with the maximum 2% call drop rate directives to telecom operators.

After being briefed by the commission, Dr Pantami immediately charged the commission to use its authority as the telecom regulators and speedily address the issue of illegal deduction of Data of Nigerians, stressing that NCC is all about protecting the consumer and Nigerians are complaining daily about the menace.

“Nigerians are worried about poor Quality of Service (QoS), there is constant agitation daily on the Social Media Platforms, there is a need for improvement,” he said.
