Akindele was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, the state capital by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for seeking unlawfully sexual benefit from the student in exchange for marks.

The ICPC Prosecutor, Mr Kehinde Adedoyo said the lecturer committed the offense on 16th of September, 2017 in contravention of Sections 8(1)(A) (2) and 18(d) of the corrupt practices and other related offenses Act 2000.

He told the court that Akindele’s offence is punishable under the law to serve as deterrent to other people.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegation leveled against him and his lawyer, Mr Fola Omotoso urged the court to grant him bail in the most liberal terms.

The ICPC lawyer opposed the bail application by Akindele’s lawyer on the premise that the accused person refused to show up at office of the commission since he was granted administrative bail.
