Successful applicants who are shortlisted in the ongoing Police recruitment exercise will undergo aptitude tests to be conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, an official has said.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of training, Mr. Emmanuel Inyang, disclosed this during an inspection of the ongoing recruitment exercise at the Akwa Ibom Command in Uyo on Friday.

He noted that applicants would undergo several medical examinations, after which the healthiest would be shortlisted for the next round of the recruitment exercise, which is the aptitude test.

The officer said that in all, 133,000 persons applied for recruitment, but that 6,000 candidates will be taken overall.

“The total number of those that have applied for the Police job is about 133,000. They are going through screening all over the country.

“Out of this figure, we are only going to take the best 6,000 candidates,” Inyang disclosed.
