Reno Omokri is in the news again, and this time, it is about the payment of tithe, he said is out of place in Christendom.
TheNewsGuru reports Omokri is joining the long list of those who have argued against the practice of tithe payment in Christianity.
“If you don’t pay tithes, things wont be tight for you and you wont die. As a matter of fact, tithes have no place in Christianity,” he took to his Twitter handle to say on Sunday.
In a not too recent development, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Johnson Funso Odesola in his sermon took a swipe at Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, who is one antagonist of tithe payment.
TheNewsGuru reports Daddy Freeze, an on-air radio personality, has been so much entrenched in the tithe debate that has shaken the very foundation of tithes payments by Christians in recent times.
Daddy Freeze had questioned the sanity of RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye after the revered man of God, in a video that went viral, was captured warning Christians defaulting payment of their tithes will not make heaven.
According to Reno Omokri, “Abraham paid tithe of military plunder to Melchizedek, not earnings. If you don’t pay tithes, things wont be tight for you and you wont die. @JeffBezos became the world’s richest man through ideas not tithes. As a matter of fact, tithes have no place in Christianity”.
“What is in your heart is what will be in your mouth. If money is in your heart, tithe is what will constantly be in your mouth and your sermons. If God and His Son Jesus are in your hearts then salvation will be in your mouth and your sermons. Out of the abundance of the heart,” he further stated.
