The apex socio-cultural body of the Ndokwa people, Ndokwa Neku Union, (NNU) has thrown its weight behind the agitation for an Urhobo Governor come 2023.
The Chairman of Ndokwa Union, Brigadier-General Mike Ndubuisi (rtd) gave the backing on behalf of the Ndokwa people when her Urhobo counterpart, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) the Committee on Urhobo Governor 2023, led by its Chairman, Chief Dr. Anthony Onoharigho paid her a visit at Eziano, Ukwani Local Government Area.
He remarked that the Ndokwa people and Urhobo people were good neighbors with similar culture.
While describing Chief Onoharigho’s speech as wonderful, General Ndubuisi disclosed that Ndokwa people would pay a similar visit to UPU on issues facing Ndokwa Nation in Delta State.
He, however, stated the NNU would present the UPU request before a larger forum of Ndokwa people for consideration.
The Chairman of the UPU committee, Chief Dr. Anthony Onoharigho, who is the first Deputy President-General Worldwide, had earlier in his address, appealed to the people of Delta North and South Senatorial Districts to sustain the unwritten Delta Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship senatorial zoning.
While emphasizing that it was the turn of Delta Central to produce the next governor of Delta State in 2023, he remarked that the said zoning arrangement had guaranteed peace and unity in Delta State.
