Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has set another record in European football.
On Tuesday night the Al Nassr of Saud Arabia forward became only the first player to feature in six European Championships.
The 39-year-old started for his country in their 2-1 win over Czech Republic.
Ronaldo made his debut in European championship in 2004 hosted by his own country when he first appeared for the Portuguese national team.
Incidentally Ronaldo scored his international goal against Czech Republic.
Now, 20 years later, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner faced the same team in their opening fixture of this year’s championship.
Since his debut, Ronaldo has played in every subsequent Portugal team since – 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 (played in 2021 due to COVID-19) and now 2024.
With 14 Euros goals, the Al-Nassr superstar also holds the record for the most goals by any player in the history of the competition.
