Akor in Abuja on Thursday said though government is doing a lot in building capacity in technology creation, most inventions waste away.

“Government, therefore, needs to make it mandatory for its agencies to adopt and utilize those things built by the youths.

“By this, you will discover that government would do a lot in encouraging capacity of people through expos and exhibitions.

“But when it comes to patronizing these goods, government often neglects the locally fabricated things and give contracts to already established companies to import same into the country.

“That means we are not confident in the efficacy of made-in-Nigeria goods,” Akor said

The expert said that if Nigeria must advance technologically, government must take the lead in promoting made-in-Nigeria products by investing in local content.
