In an effort to ensure a smooth and secure transition event, the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has announced that several key areas will be cordoned off during the period.

This precautionary measure aims to maintain the safety and integrity of the ceremony, which will culminate in the highly anticipated Inauguration Parade and Swearing-in of President-Elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday 29th of May, 2023.
A letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Service Welfare Office, Ngozi Onwudiwe, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, called for the cooperation of the Public in ensuring a smooth operation of the event and to guarantee the safety of all participants.
“In line with the security arrangements for the event, the Federal Secretariat Complexes Phases I, II, II and Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be cordoned off by security operatives from 2.00pm on Friday, 26 May 2023 to Monday, 29 May, 2023.
“Accordingly, officers and intending visitors to the affected areas will not be allowed access till Tuesday, 30 May, 2023, when work will resume in earnest,” the letter read.
This temporary closure will allow the security personnel to maintain a controlled environment and ensure the successful execution of the inauguration ceremony.
The cordon off of the Federal Secretariat Complexes and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs serves as a reminder of the significance and magnitude of this historic occasion.
