More Than Want Or Desire
It is with all ecstasy I welcome you to the new month, May; the 5th month of the year, 2020. As usual, I’ve got an important message to share with you for the new month.
Just before you start, this piece is a bit long. But I assure you that, you will be glad if you are patience enough to read to the end.
Let’s get started without further ado.
In a supermarket where household equipment are sold, you have the access to get anything of your choice.
Of course, the things in the supermarket are not for the owner’s usage. Right? They are for people who need them and the seller is very much ready to give them out, isn’t it? Good.
But can you just walk into the supermarket and start picking anything you want? Not in the least, you can’t. So what do you do to get what you want?
This is what you do; place a demand on it. Once you demand for it, it will be delivered to you.
Such is life. Life is like a supermarket having all the things we want. If your mind can imagine it, it exists. Even from scripture, I read that we have access to things far above what we think or ask. (See Eph. 3:20).
You can see. Life holds everything good that we all want and God, the one incharge is ready to give to us above what we ask or think. However, no matter how generous life or God is, we may not have what we want until we have done this one thing.
What is this one thing?
Placing a demand on the thing you want. Now you are asking what it means to place a demand on or simply demand for something.
Yes, to want something is to wish for or desire it. On the other hand, to demand for something you want is to back up your desire with what it takes to have the thing you want. In other words, when you demand for something, you are ready to pay the price the thing costs.
Like the analogy I gave using a supermarket, every product in a supermarket has a price tag, which is the price written or attached to it. So before you can go home with any of the product you want or desire, you must have paid the price it costs.
Similarly, everything you want from life has a price tag on it. Although we may have some things without obviously paying for them, but don’t rely on free gift. Even God who owns all things had to pay a price that was on you before He could obtain you back to Himself as a true son or daughter (that is if you’re already among the saved).
Now what is my new month message to you?
It is simply that, in this month, MAY and beyond, don’t just want or desire to achieve your dreams, aspirations or goals. More than want or desire, demand for your dreams, aspirations or goals.
With all you’ve got – your physical strength, time, money, knowledge, etc, place a demand on your dreams in life and you will have them delivered to you.
As an aspiring writer, don’t just desire to become a great or successful writer or author. More than desire, place a demand on your dream by paying the price of consistent writing, reading, learning, and doing all that is necessary.
As s student, don’t just desire to have A’s. More than desire, place a demand on your success by paying the price of determination, self- discipline, focus, etc.
As a single (spinster or bachelor), don’t just want or desire the right life partner. More than want or desire, demand for that right partner by paying the price of patience, prayer, abstenence from premarital sex, etc.
As a husband or wife, don’t just want a blissful and peaceful marriage. More than want, demand for it by paying the price of respect, love, forgiveness, tolerance, etc.
As a business person, don’t just desire a successful business. More than desire, demand for it by paying the price of hardwork, and total commitment to your business activities.
As a youth or graduate, don’t just want a great future. More than want, place a demand on it by paying the price of delay gratification, self-discipline, keeping the right association, learning a skill or handwork, etc.
As a minister of God, don’t just want growth in your ministry. More than want, demand for that increase by paying the price of commitment to consistent prayer, taking time to study and prepare quality messages, care and concern for members’ welfare, evangelism, and very importantly, obedience to God’s instructions.
The list is endless. I can go on and on. You know what you want or desire. Whatever it is, MORE THAN WANT OR DESIRE, demand for your dreams or goals by paying the price attached to them, and if you do, you will have them delivered into your hands.
Finally, always remember that tough times don’t last; only tough people do. No matter the toughness of any challenge, you may be going through now, stay strong and don’t give up because, your best life is still possible.
In this new month and always, keep being a HAPPY BETTER YOU, releasing your fullest potential and striving towards your best life.
