Princess Elizabeth Bright, a 22 year-old young Nigerian politician has been elected as one of the youngest councillors in UK, representing Eastbrook ward in Dagenham, during the UK Election which took place on Thursday, May 3rd 2018.
In the same vein, her mother, Councillor Afolasade Bright from the Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council was also re-elected. She is also a former speaker and the civic mayor London borough of Hackney.
In the words of the Labour council leader Darren Rodwell: “When people knock us on Facebook, when people knock us on Twitter, when people knock us in the Post, there is only one thing I want to say to them – and that is we are one Labour Party in one borough. We are one community.Three times we have cleared the slate, three times we have shown that Labour are the best people to run Barking and Dagenham”.
Speaking on her shocking victory at the polls, Princess said:”Today 4th May 2018, God did it – he turned my setback into a comeback. I WON .
Officially been elected as the youngest Labour Councillor in my borough representing the fantastic Eastbrook Ward at the tender age of 22 alongside 2 amazing people Mick McCarthy and Tony Ramsay. We have worked so hard in this election, with one of the most target wards, but All the hard work, commitment and tears have finally paid off.

Remarkably, the four councillors are all ladies from the same Parish, RCCG The Master’s Sanctuary. They are 22 -year old Princess Bright, her mum; Afolasade Bright, Donna Lumsden and Dorothy Akwaboah.
