Nigerian pop artiste, Divine Ikubor, known on stage as Rema has responded to Bowen University open intation to come join them.
The institution had wooed Rema to join them, assuring him that it will save him from the hassles of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.
Recall that the singer had put up a post admonishing ASUU to call off the strike saying he’s barely resumed school than the strike began.
His tweet reads“ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!” he wrote in pidgin. Rema, who sings for Mavin Records, announced to his fans in January that he had gained admission to the University of Lagos.
However, Bowen university which is located at Iwo in Osun State replied to the singer’s tweet, saying Rema won’t be delayed by ASUU strike if he joined the private institution.
The tweet read, “ASUU can’t delay you if you’re enrolled in Bowen University.”

Reacting to Bowen University tweet, Rema who described the institution as “Unilag private university”, said he was fascinated by the school’s approach.

He tweeted, “Unilag private university don dey Toast me o, I’m blushing omg stop it.”
Divine Ikubor (born 1 May 2000), known professionally as Rema, is a Nigerian singer and rapper. He rose to prominence with the release of the song “Iron Man”, which appeared on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records.
