Bose Ogulu, mother of pop star, Burna Boy has averred that her son’s Grammy win is her best mother’s day present.
In a video Burna Boy shared on Twitter, Mrs Ogulu could be seen leading the song in a room filled with relatives and close associates as they sang and danced to the beat of Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ after he was announced winner of Best Global Music Album category.
In another video, Ogulu also stated that Burna Boy’s Grammy win was the best Mother’s Day present she could ever receive and that she was a proud mother.
TheNewsGuru recalls that Burna Boy beat fellow nominees Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tinariwen to win the Best Global Music Album category.
Responding to the win Burna said during his acceptance speech:”This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world.This should be a lesson to every African out there. No matter where you are, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it because you are a king.Look at me now, Grammy award winning Burna Boy”.
In a related development, Davido congratulated his colleagues in the Nigerian music industry who won awards at the 63rd Grammy Awards event which held last night.
He tweeted, “Whichever way you look at it, this is a victory for Nigeria for the culture and for my people! Congrats to our winners! Tule Naija! #Grammys #foreverchoke.”
