An intellectual theft allegation has been leveled against popular Nigerian pop star, Tekno. The singer recently did a remix of Danfo Drivers hit song, ‘Kponlogo’ apparently without their consent. He renamed the song ‘Jogodo’
Recall that the dancehall stars performed at the recently held Headies 2018 bringing back nostalgic feelings.
In a recent chat with Wazobia TV, Danfo Drivers called out Tekno over copyright theft. According to them: “Tekno is making us angry. Why would he do that kind of thing? It’s not good. If you want to use our song, you will let us know. Tell us and we know plan to do it. Tekno owes us money, If I catch am”.

However, Tekno is yet to react to the copyright theft allegation levelled against him.
In his reaction, the CEO of Made Men Music Group (MMMG), the record label Tekno is signed to, said they reached out to the singers but they did not get a concrete permission from them.
“We contacted them sha and it was one story or the other.This actually makes me laugh” he wrote on Instagram.

In recent times, veteran Nigerian artistes like King Sunny Ade, K1 the Ultimate{ Kwam 1} Sir Victor Uwaifo and others have leveled allegations of copyright theft against Simi, Olamide, Jaywon for using remixing their songs without due permission.
