igerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has treated himself to a luxurious Maybach car after his sold-out concert at the London O2 Arena.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Maybach is a German luxury car brand that exists today as a part of Mercedes-Benz.
The original company was founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son, originally as a subsidiary of Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH, and it was known as Luftfahrzeug-Motorenbau GmbH until 1999.
The Maybach variant, 2022 Mercedes Maybach GLS 600, bought by Davido after selling out The O2 Arena for his show in London is rumoured to cost a towering 171 million in Naira.
Davido showed off the new car on his Instagram Story, saying: “I thought Lambo was the last one” and asking “Who vex me?”.
He also revealed two very expensive wristwatches on his Instagram Story.
The Maybach adds to Davido’s lines of cars that include a Lamborghini and Rolls Royce.
Recall that the Nigerian music sensation was reportedly fined £340,000 (about 188 million in naira) in the UK after the London show.
The concert which was held on Friday started at 6:30 pm.
Marvin Abbey, a social media influencer based in London, in a tweet said Davido was supposed to finish his concert at the O2 Arena at 11 pm but overshot the time.
He said the O2 Area has a strict 11 pm curfew and that for every minute “you go past 11 pm, you have to pay £10,000.
“Davido said he did not care. He finished the concert at 23:34. That’s £340,000 fine. Mental!”
Abbey tweeted again after people faulted his claim, saying: “For all the people saying I’m lying about the Davido tweet, the O2 curfew is nothing new.
“Read up on it, I don’t have time to argue. The Rolling Stones & Justin Bieber have also been fined in the past. It’s actually Greenwich council that issue the fine”.
