Nigerian artiste Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid lost out in his two nominations at the Grammy awards.
Wizkid’s fans were utterly disappointed at his inability to win any of the categories he was nominated for.
Wizkid’s Essence was defeated by Arooj Aftab’s Mohabaat for the Best Global Music Performance award. Similarly, Made in Lagos, which was nominated for Best Global Music Album, lost to Angelique Kidjo’s Mother Nature.
Although, Wizkid hasn’t uttered any statement, his fans known as Wizkid fc have taken to social media to berate Beninese Angelique Kidjo who clinched Best Global Music Album category.
The Benin Rebublic artistes disabled the comments section on her Instagram celebration post but this did not deter Wizkid fans who bombarded her previous posts to rant and vent their anger

Wizkid’s fourth album Essence was released in October 2020 and it features fast rising female artiste Tems.
With Essence, Wizkid made history in July as he became the first Nigerian artiste with a record on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, peaking at Number nine in September.
His album, Made in Lagos, also hit the Number one spot on the Billboard World Album Chart in August.
Wizkid had won a joint award with American songstress Beyonce in the song titled Brown Skin Girl at the 63rd Grammy Awards held last year in America.
