Popular musician and and activist, Charles Oputa aka Charly Boy has said he does not believe in one Nigeria.
The 70-year-old self-proclaimed ‘Area Fada’ said his submission is as a result of the current happenings in the country, which has continued to reoccur over the last four decades.
“No, I don’t (believe in one Nigeria) because we are in bed with strange fellows who don’t understand us and we don’t understand them,” Charly Boy said
The singer, who is working on the release of a new EP, said he has no regrets about the life he has lived.
“No, I will do it over and over again. I love my life. I love how I have unfolded over the years,” he said.
TheNewsGuru recalls that in an interview, Charly Boy urged young Nigerians to set up their own political party.
“First of all, I found out, sadly, that most of the young people who were making noise during the last elections didn’t register. But all these elections, are they not mere selections? There are no elections but we can no longer help it. So, the youth should start thinking about setting up their own thing. Because if we try that one and it doesn’t work, everything must scatter. For this country to stand again, we have to raze the building down to the foundation and start again. That is the only way”.
