Josephine Nwaghanata doesn’t belong to the league of women who have to be padded to be curvy and beautiful. The fast rising actress who is a graduate of Theatre Arts from Lagos State University is one of the new faces in the movie industry whose passion for her craft, will make her go places. What more? Her sex appeals are capable of opening doors wherever she finds herself. Josephine has starred in TV series Tinsel, ‘Jenifa’ ‘Strangers in love’, ‘Entreat’, ‘Busted’ amongst others.
How did your acting journey kick off?
It started when I was little, I would watch some movies and just get angry at how an actor interpreted his/her role and then I would say to myself when I get older I would do better
Then i joined the drama department of my church. For two years, I was made to watch, learn and observe before I finally started acting. It felt like a dream come through and since then I’ve been acting both on stage and on screen
Was there anything in your childhood that prepared your for this?
I was a very quiet child while growing up. I was lazy to express my feeling so I would just keep to myself rather than defend myself .It made me think more and create sceneries in my mind where I would see myself acting out my feelings . That was where the passion for expressing emotions and words came and I loved it
What was your first audition like?
It was bad. I was literally shaking. I was so mad with myself after that audition because I knew I was good and I just missed an opportunity to show that I was
What makes you different from any other actress out there?
Just the mere fact that we don’t have the same DNA just proves that already. We all have different experiences and lifestyles while growing up and because of this difference, everyone is unique in their own way.
What’s your educational background like?
I have a B.A in Theatre Art from Lagos State University. I attended Federal Government College Odogbolu in Ogun State.My primary school was Footstep Nursery and Primary school in Lagos
How do you pull off sensual roles?
Some days before I go on set I take my time to feed on and digest sensual emotions/feelings into my spirit by watching, reading, hearing and speaking everything sensual.This to make me feel well fed with sensuality and like they say what is inside you is what comes out of you .This method works for me.
Would you say being curvy has been an advantage to your career?
Yes it has been an advantage. As an actor, you two basic tools are your body and your voice.So you need to work on having a great body and good communication skills because those are the needs of the industry.
What is that one thing acting hasn’t done for you?
Acting hasn’t given me a daring role
What is your dream role?
I will love to appear in Tyler Perry movies. His movies are relational and teach how to conquer all your fears in life
What is your opinion about celebrities who put their personal lives on social media?
For me, I think it’s their business and they can do what they want as long as they aren’t harming someone else
