Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has reacted to the lyrics of her estranged boyfriend, Sarkodie’s rap song addressing the abortion she had whilst still dating the rapper.
Recall that the thespian in her recently published book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’, narrated how she aborted her first pregnancy because she is fatherless and did not expect to give birth to a child whose father had refused to accept responsibility.
In a chapter titled ‘A Difficult Decision’, she said Sarkodie “said no to keeping the pregnancy.”
But reacting in his latest single, ‘Try Me [Raw]’ released on Wednesday, Sarkodie claimed he asked Yvonne Nelson to keep the pregnancy even though he wasn’t ready to be the father.
“Yes, I wasn’t ready but then I told you to keep it. So don’t make it seem like I was pushing you for abortion,” he raps in the first verse of the song.
He said Yvonne Nelson’s book was not so great but got patronage because of the negative things she wrote.
However, Yvonne immediately took to his Twitter to react to Sarkodie’s response.
“As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish a pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them. #triedyou.”
