Celebrated Nigerian pop star, Tiwa Savage has averred that her song ‘Koroba’ does not promote prostitution.
Tiwa made this known while replying a critic who claimed her song ‘Koroba’ promotes prostitution.
The critic claimed in a tweet on Monday that the first verse in ‘Koroba’ promotes prostitution.
Tiwa responded: “Let me break down the msg of the song 2 you sir – we crucify young women for going after rich politicians for their money, calling them prostitutes but we don’t call out the politicians…”
In November 2018, Savage won Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, becoming the first woman to win the category. In May 2019, she announced her record deal with Universal Music Group and exit from Mavin Records.Savage sings in English and Yoruba; her music is a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, pop and hip-hop. Savage’s contributions to the Nigerian music industry have earned her several achievements.
