EME First Lady, Eniola Akinbo a.k.a Niyola is one vocal powerhouse whose voice texture will definitely wow you. The Toh Bad singer who couldn’t release her anticipated album last year revealed to TheNewsGuru that she does not belong to the league of artistes who release songs every month. She stated that Nigerians are impatient and she has a problem with people who expect her to release songs every month.
In her words:” This is part of the challenges I have with the Nigerian music industry. Everybody expects that an artiste drops a song every month. There is nowhere in the world that it’s done in an ideal world. An artiste should not be put under pressure to put out a song every month. I usually have a problem when people want me to release a song every month. I released a song in May last year and also followed up with another song in September. I was supposed to release an album last year, but I couldn’t because of health reasons, I feel like Nigerians are just impatient.”
The beautiful singer took time out to expound her brand of music, saying a lot of thoughtfulness goes into it.
Hear her:”Because this is the norm, people drop two songs a month, three songs in a month. I am not an artiste who makes music for the clubs, not that there is something wrong with that .Nigerians need to start accepting people for the art that they bring to the table. There is a lot of thoughtfulness that goes into my music, so I am not going to be churning out music every month.”
