Veteran actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh, has lamented the effect of fuel scarcity and bank app downtimes on her, saying she is being frustrated.
The single mother of one took to her Instagram page to add her voice to the struggles faced by many Nigerians amidst the scarcity of new Naira notes and fuel price hike.
Dikeh noted that her bank app has not worked for two days leaving her stranded to buy fuel, and top up her electricity unit.
“For the past 2 days I have been unable to open up my Bank app, only this evening my light unit decides to finish. I have tried opening this app for almost 6 hours and finally, I believe I will be sleeping in the dark today.
“I can’t buy a Unit, I can’t buy diesel gt I absolutely can’t even get a hotel!!! I don’t use or own an ATM.. I’m on a whole new level of emotional instability RN. I’m so frustrated,” she wrote. I’m so frustrated”- Dikeh cries out over her struggle.
Her fans and well-wishers showered her support with many highlighted solutions to the actress.
“No man is an Island, my dear, get you a friend. It must not be a best friend but at least someone to call on in such situations. Probably a colleague too but no man is an island ok, be safe,” a social media user wrote in reaction.
Another user added, “Thank God say even the rich follow chop the suffering. ? last the suffering go reach everybody till we vote the right person this time.”

Dikeh revealed this during an interview, stating she is officially taking a bow from acting.
She stated that she was permanently leaving acting for politics.
Recall that the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State, Mr. Tonte Ibraye, announced Dikeh as his running mate for the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement posted by Tonte Ibraye in June, on his verified Facebook page.
The statement reads: “After series of consultations with leaders of our party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State and the national level, I’m glad to announce Ambassador Tonto Dikeh as my running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.
“We are pleased to welcome her to the #RiversRescueMission2023 as we strive to improve the standard of living for everyone in our dear Rivers State.”
The actress also took to her official Instagram page on Friday to announce the news and thank the candidate for choosing her.
She said, “I thank Mr. Tonte Ibraye(@tonteibraye), the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate.
“I’ve done like two films in 10 years, so you can’t tell me I’m still in the industry,” said the mother of one. I would always appreciate that it was the industry that my path started from, that my shine started from.
“It is something that I respect, but it’s not something that has been in my life for a while now. So even after the election, it is not something I plan on bringing back.”
