Renowned filmmaker and actor, Tyler Perry whose ‘Acrimony’ movie stirred a lot of public outrage has said his iconic Madea character will be rested in 2019.
For two decades, Perry has played the role of Madea, a gun-carrying, profanity-spouting grandmother who isn’t afraid to throw hands when and if necessary or voice her opinion , not caring whose ox is gored.
Despite her questionable methods, she stands for what’s right and has a nurturing side. As examples, Madea is often seen officiously involving herself in circumstances in which others have been wronged, offering self-defense tips, instruction, or avenging them on her own;by her very nature, Madea is more than willing to “thug out” on some of the sassiest and brattiest of children and teens.
Speaking on the SiriusXM radio show, Perry stated that Madea will make one last appearance in the forthcoming film, ‘Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral’, set to be released in 2019.
Ever since the character’s debut in 1999 in the play, ‘I Can Do Bad All by Myself’, it has earned more than $500 million worldwide at the box office from 10 films.
Perry latest project, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, an upcoming comedy which he filmed and wrote, starring Tiffany Haddish and Whoopi Goldberg, is set to be released this November.
