Veteran Nollywood actor, Chinwetalu Agu has said he turned down an offer of N10 million from billionaire business mogul, Mike Adenuga, to play a character in a movie.
He said when the billionaire businessman made the offer he did not make N1 million before but he insisted on getting N20 million.
The legendary thespian said Adenuga later compromised and gave her N20 million after she threatened to leave.
Agu disclosed this in a chat with popular media personality Chude Jideonwe.
He said, “Chief Mike Adenuga said, ‘All I have for you in this deal is N10 million.’ I never saw N1 million before when he was offering me N10 million but I refused. I said, ‘If it’s not N20 million, forget it.’
“He insisted, I insisted. So, I pretended to get up and said, ‘Give me the money to go back to Enugu. If a flight is available, book it for me and let me go back quietly.’
“When I got up they thought I was serious now. Chief Mike Adenuga said ‘Sit down.’ He directed them to bring the papers for signature. They brought and I signed.
“From that moment the Uhuru dance began. I did it diplomatically in the office. I didn’t want them to know that N20m is a big deal [to me]. But this was the most wonderful thing [to me] now.”
