Liverpool fans have been sending messages to both Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard and midfielder, Coutinho, who are their former players, asking them to ensure the fall of City.
The match will certainly not be an easy one for Pep Guardiola’s side with Reds icon Gerrard as Aston Villa’s boss.
Coutinho confirmed that Liverpool supporters have been sending messages but insisted that Villa will only play their game and make sure they finish the season well.
“It’s a great game to play.
“But we want to finish well against a great club. And that’s it. We always want to improve and do well and finish as high as we can.
“I only care about my new club. I want to play well for them. I have had a lot of messages from Liverpool fans on social media but I don’t look at it that much anyway. My focus is only on the games we have.
“That is what we want to do this time and compete on the same level.”
