Facebook reactions now have a new addition for users of the incontestable number one social media platform to express thankfulness on posts and comments.
Before this new addition, Facebook users only had the option of ‘like’, ‘love’, ‘haha’, ‘wow’, ‘sad’ and ‘angry’ to react on posts and comments on the social media; but, there now a new ‘thankful’ (as observed on the mobile app of Facebook) or ‘grateful’ (as observed on Facebook web version) emoji addition for users to react on posts and comments.
A tap or click on the new ‘thankful’ Facebook reaction on a post on the mobile app activates a stream of purple flowers over the screen of your smartphone. But there is no same effect for tapping or clicking ‘thankful’ on comments.
This means Facebook users can now use Reaction emojis including ‘like’, ‘love’, ‘thankful’, ‘haha’, ‘wow’, ‘sad’ or ‘angry’ to react to both posts and comments on the social media platform.
It was recently Facebook updated its algorithms for users to be able to use reactions on comments, which before was only possible on posts.
“We’ve heard from people they’d like more ways to show their reaction in conversations on Facebook, so we’re rolling out the ability to react to comments,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.
Recently, Facebook added support for Message Reactions to Messenger. The Reactions feature allows users to react to individual messages with emojis.
Facebook recorded reaching 300 billion reactions on posts and reported that the ‘love’ reaction was used maximum times by its over 1.79 billion users.
It was on 24 February 2016 that Facebook enhanced conversations by implementing “Reactions” a group of emojis that now has ‘love’, ‘thankful’, ‘haha’, ‘wow’, ‘sad’ and ‘angry’ emoticons that joined the famous “like” button.
Facebook has reported that the most popular reaction was ‘Love’, and that the day with the largest number of Reactions, including the day with the largest number of ‘love’ reactions, was Christmas Day 2016.
