The funeral arrangements for popular TV presenter, the late Rachel Bakam have been announced.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Bakam, who is also known as Rachel the PIPER, died from anaemia at a tender age of 38 on April 13.
Born on the 11th of September 1982 in Kaduna State, Bakam is survived by a son, mother and siblings.
According to the funeral arrangements obtained by TNG, Rachel the PIPER will be laid to rest on Friday 23rd April 2021 at Gudu cemetery in Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT).
Before then, friends and associates of the late TV icon will gather for a night of tribute for Bakam on Wednesday 21st of April 2021.
Also, a wake keeping will hold on Thursday 22nd April 2021 by 5 pm at the football pitch of Games Village Estate in Kaura, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Bakam.
The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria described the death of Bakam as too sudden and shocking.
“The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria is deeply saddened to learn the news of early sudden death of Ms. Rachel BAKAM, CEO & TV Presenter, on 13 April 2021.
“She had worked together with the Embassy to promote Japanese culture and the Government of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) in Nigeria.
“The Embassy of Japan expresses its deepest condolences to her bereaved family,” a statement by the Embassy reads.
TNG reports Rachel Bakam was a Bajju lady from Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.
She studied Theatre Arts at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she graduated as the best graduating student in both the Department and Faculty.
Rachel also holds a Diploma in Digital Film Making from New York Film Academy, USA. She is an actress, presenter, humanitarian, TV host and entrepreneur.
She anchors her program called “Rachel The Piper” on AIT every Saturday by 6pm.
She has also acted in many blockbuster movies with ace actors such as Ernest Obi, Tonto Dike amongst others.
She has interviewed many great personalities such as former Head of State, General Babangida, different Ministers of Nigeria, Governor El-rufai, popular footballers and actors.
Her last movie, titled “Land of No Return”, which she produced, featured herself, Ernest Obi and other ace Nollywood actors.
The movie premiered December last year at Silverbird Cinema Abuja. She used all the proceeds from the movie as donation to the people of Southern Kaduna who were affected during the Southern Kaduna crisis.
