Topmost gubernatorial aspirant of APC in Edo State, Senator (Prof) Oserheimen Osunbor has vowed to provide water for Edo Central Senatorial District if voted governor in 2024.
Osunbor who is the only tested aspirant made this vow during a stakeholders forum held in the district last weekend.
The former Governor refreshed the memories of the stakeholders on how he had commissioned consultants in 2008 on how to solve the perennial water problem in the district.
Hear him:
“While I was in the Senate we initiated a project tagged the ‘Northern Ishan Water Supply’ Scheme.
“I had hoped that as a State Governor that I will be able to ensure that we benefited from the project in conjunction with the FG.
“I actually commissioned a consultant to draw out a feasibility plan that we will ensure that our people enjoyed social amenity like water supply but unfortunately I was removed from office before we began the project.
“If I am voted as the next governor of Edo state I will ensure that the water project is completed in my first year in office.
“The last time any government made the issue of water supply to Ishan land a priority was in the 50’s during Awolowo and Anthony Enahoro’s era.
On Education:
“I am promising to provide the quality of governance that will be mutually beneficial to all and sundry.
“I am not unmindful of the desires and needs of our people, chief amongst them is the issue of University education.
“You are well aware of my laudable achievements during my short stay in the Office.
“This visit is to solicit your support to be nominated as the APC flag bearer in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo state.
Since Senator Osunbor declared his intention to run for the office of governor, he has been visiting all critical stakeholders to gather support to build a strong base to clinch the APC ticket.
