A 20-Man Nigeria Wrestling team will arrive in Ghana on Wednesday ahead of the 13th African Games.
The team, on Tuesday departed Yenagoa where the they having been camping.
The team led by Daniel Kigali, the President, Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) left Yenagoa for Port-Harcourt airport en-route to Abuja.
Igali told newsmen that Wrestlers are ready to take on their counterparts from any part of the continent.
“I believe in them and I know they will have a good result at the end of the games.
“This is African Games and as you know our athletes have been in training camp in Yenagoa.
“We expect everyone of the athlete to give their best efforts at the games
“I believe the work we’ve done in the past few weeks will bring good results to Nigeria,”he said.
The full list of the female Wrestlers included, Mercy Genesis (50kg), Tolulope Ogusanya (53kg), Folasade Adekuoroye (57kg), Omolayo Kolawole (62kg), Blessing Oborududu (68kg) and Reuben Amuchechi (76kg).
While the Men Freestyle category, comprised Simon Enozunomi (57kg), Simon Izolo (65kg),Braverman Oyeinkeperem (74kg), Harrison Onovwiomogbowo (86kg) and Adeyemi -Amin Mutuwa (125kg)
The Greco -Roman category has Nworie Chinonso (77kg), Solomon Ulabo (87kg) and Augustine Okuro
(130kg).
African Games begins on March 8 to 23, while the Wrestling event is scheduled for March 9 to 11 in Accra, Ghana.
