American pop icon and song writer, Madonna has been hospitalized and will be transferred to the intensive care unit, (ICU) after being diagnosed with a bacterial infection.
According to her manager, Guy Oseary, the 64-year-old “Like a Virgin” singer has also postponed her Celebration World Tour and would be rescheduled.
Madonna had in the past canceled a string of shows on her last tour in 2019, due to a knee injury. The tour also ended early.
However, Oseary further disclosed that Madonna’s health is improving while she is still under medical care.
“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead (sic) to a several day stay in the ICU.
“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” Oseary wrote on Instagram Wednesday.
Madonna‘s condition was so serious that her relatives were ‘preparing for the worst,’ a family member has told DailyMail.com.
The 64-year-old was found unconscious in New York on Saturday, and rushed to the ICU where she was reportedly intubated overnight.
On Wednesday, her manager Guy Oseary announced that she was suffering from a ‘serious bacterial infection’, and needed time to recover so was postponing her tour, due to begin in Vancouver on July 15.
