The Central Bank of Nigeria has denied the fire accident reports said to have occurred in its headquarters office in Abuja.
The report of the fire outbreak which was earlier published in TheNewsGuru was debunked by CBN’s spokesperson, Isaac Okoroafor.
Okoroafor made the rebuttal in a phone conversation with TheNewsGuru.com.
He said, “Reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) head office building is on fire are false.
TheNewsGuru in its earlier report stated that there was a fire outbreak at the premises of the apex bank.
The fire according to eyewitnesses was said to have started about a few minutes past six and lasted for about 30 minutes before it was put out.
TheNewsGuru.com also gathered that the Federal Capital Fire Service were at the scene to ensure that the fire did not get out of control.
Apart from the Federal Fire Service that deployed two firefighting trucks in the scene of the incident, a truck belonging to Julius Berger was also sited at the apex bank headquarters.
