Following the death of Professor Abednego Ekoko, a former Commissioner for Education in Delta State, another former Commissioner in the State, Arch Joseph Ajiri Ogeh has died.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Professor Ekoko died on Saturday morning, while reports of the death of Arch Ogeh emerged on Sunday morning.
The death of Ogeh was announced in two separate statements released by Alebe Joshua Onos, Press Secretary to the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Isoko North LGA and Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council.
The PDP Chairman, Dcn Prince Godwin Ogorugba was quoted to have said he cannot believe the passing away of the former Delta State Commissioner for Housing,ndescribing it as “unbelievable death”.
Ogorugba in the statement described Ogeh as his reliable great leader, confider, and elder brother, saying he received the news of the death with shock and yet to come to terms that Ogeh is gone.
TNG reports Ogeh hailed from Oghara Iyede in Isoko North Local government Area of Delta State, and was a former DESOPADEC Commissioner, who represented the Isoko nation.
Meanwhile, the Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Christian Othuke Iteire has described the passing away of Ogeh as a personal loss to him.
Iteire in the statement said that he received the news of death of his dependable leader and dear friend with rude shock and he was yet to come to terms with it.
“His death is a devastating blow which diminishes humanity. He was an Iroko and his death is a colossal lost to the Isoko nation,”
“He is a man of uncommon courage, filled with wisdom, carried himself with a redemptive charisma and was a solid source of inspiration, and a selfless political leader who was responsive and sensitive to the plights of the people.
“I enjoyed his generous support and had a robust political relationship with him and he constantly kept in touch with him on affairs of the local government area.
“He was a dedicated leader and member of the ruling party in the State, the People’s Democratic Party, and he played crucial roles in galvanising and mobilising the people of Isoko North politically,” Iteire was quoted to have said.
While praying for the repose of the soul of Ogeh, Iteire urged his immediate family to take solace in the fact that their caring brother, husband and father lived a fulfilled life of service to humanity.
