Staff of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) have rejected the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as Postmaster General (PMG) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by President Bola Tinubu.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports NIPOST workers, as a result, staged a protest and shut out Odeyemi, denying her entry to her office at the headquarters of the service in Abuja on Monday.
Information available indicates that the workers found the appointment of the new NIPOST CEO as a step that was against their wishes.
However, after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment broke, there were reports that Sunday Adepoju, the sacked Post Master-General had been reinstated.
In a viral video, Adepoju was seen addressing some workers who claimed Tinubu had reappointed him.
But on Monday, the protesting workers denied entry to the newly appointed NIPOST CEO, saying her appointment was against their wish.
The workers, who said they preferred Adepoju, chanted solidarity songs and wielded placards.
