The Delta State House of Assembly has constituted the various House committees.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori announced the chairmen and members of the various House committees at plenary session today.
Oberevwori announced that while Hon. Erhiatake Ibori will chair Finance and Appropriation committee, Hon. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie will chair Works committee.
TheNewsGuru reports Hon. Barr. Daniel Mayuku will chair the committee on DESOPADEC, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri for Public Account committee, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya for Asaba Development Agency, Hon. Angela Nwaka for Education and Hon. Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor for Lands, Survey and Urban Development.
Other committee chairmen are Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo for Power and Energy, Hon. Dr. Alphonsus Ojo for Health, Hon. Daniel Yingi for Environment, Oil and Gas, Hon. Barr. Tim Owhefere for Information, and Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya for Art, Culture and Tourism.
Youths and Sports committee will be chaired by Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by Hon. Azuka Azaka, Rules, Business and Judiciary by Hon. Barr. Reuben Yakubu Izeze, Public Petition by Hon. Alaowei Tonye Timi PhD, and Inter Parliamentary by Hon. Barr. Evang. Princesses Pat Ajudua.
For Special Duties, Hon. Kennedy Oboro Daubry will be the chair; while Housing and Women Affairs would be chaired by Hon. Barr. Edna Jane Orezi Esievo.
Hon. Prince Michael Diden chairs Peace and Security, Hon. Efe Ofobruku chairs Transport, Hon. Barr. Denis Omovie chairs Establishment, Ethics, Privileges and House Services, Hon. Festus Okoh chairs Commerce and Industry, and Hon. Barr. Omiragwa Samuel Mariere chairs Water Resources.
For Science and Technology, Hon. Prince Eric Oharisi is the chairman; for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Dcns. Shola Daibo is the chairman; for Urban Renewal, Hon. Engr. Kenneth Oboro Preyor is the chairman and for Legislative Compliance, Rt. Hon. (Comr.) Friday Osanebi is the chairman.
The speaker charged members of the various committees to discharge their official responsibilities to the satisfaction of the good people of Delta State.
