The Delta State Government has revealed moves to checkmate revenue leakages and eradicate illegal revenue collection in the State beginning Monday April 26, 2021.
Theresa Adiabua Oliko, Director of Information made this known, saying a joint task force has been mandated to arrest any illegal task force collecting revenue on behalf of the State Government.
According to a statement by the Director of Information, the joint task force will commence the verification of Drivers/Vehicle Owners’ particulars, Driver’s License verification and misuse of government number plate.
The statement reads: “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Drivers/Vehicle Owners and residents, that the Delta State Joint Task Force to Checkmate Revenue Leakages and Eradication of illegal Revenue Collection will commence the verification of Drivers/Vehicle Owners’ particulars, Driver’s License verification and misuse of government number plate on Monday April 26, 2021.
“The Joint Task Force has the mandate to arrest any illegal task force collecting revenue on behalf of the State Government and individuals who use the State Government number plates illegally.
“Consequently, Drivers/Vehicle Owners and residents are to ensure that their vehicle particulars are up to date to avoid such vehicles being impounded.
“Note that where Drivers/Vehicle Owners particulars and Drivers’ License have expired, the Joint Task Force has the mandate to impound such vehicle and ensure that the particulars are renewed before such vehicles are released.
“Accordingly, Drivers/Vehicle Owners and residents are by this announcement advised to take note and be guided”.
