Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has condoled with the Delta Gov, Ifeanyi Okowa over the death of his father, Chief Arthur Okowa.
The deputy governor in a condolence message by his Media Aide, Mr Benjamin Atu, said that the nation had lost a political mobiliser and a statesman.
”On this sad moment of the demise of your father, on behalf of members of my family, we join Nigerians, Deltans and the brotherly people of Ika North East to offer our condolences to the Okowa’s family.
“Our deep sympathies are with our dearly beloved brother and friend Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Government of Delta,” he said.
He prayed the good Lord to grant his soul eternal rest in the bosom of the lord.
According to him, the late Okowa popularly called AOU was a patriot and symbolises courage and conscience to his people.
“He was a community leader and a great political mobiliser, an Icon and great statesman whose words of wisdom contributed to peace and prosperity of Delta.
“I’m also aware that the late Okowa used his position as the Okpara-Uku of Owa-Alero to contribute immensely to the development of Ika North East, Delta North and the citizenry.
“He was a community leader with strong views on developmental issues. Delta has lost a stalwart,” he said.
