The Elders-in-Council of a foremost Okpẹ community in Delta state, southern Nigeria has confirmed Solomon Bayagbon as Chairman, Unuevboro of the community.
Bayagbon was confirmed the Unuevboro of Jeddo community to fill the void left behind after former Unuevboro, Hon. Lucky Enamierienwan, was advised to step down following a monarchical order by the Orodje of the Okpẹ kingdom, His Royal Majesty, retired Major-General Felix Mujakperuo, Orhue I.
Until his appointment as the Unuevboro, Solo, as he is popularly called, and often popularly referred to as ‘general’ by his fans and loyalists, has served the community in the capacity of Olotu.
Solo, who has been described as the people’s choice by Engr. Sealight Ogholemu, is the son of Timeyin Godwin of the prominent Bayagbon family and Mabel Omasheye, both of blessed memory.
Solo attended prestigious CMS Grammar School now known as Ogiendo Primary School, Jẹddo before moving on to Ekpan Secondary School and Sapele Technical College for further studies.
The newly appointed Unuevboro has worked with Delattre Bezons Nigeria (DBN) Limited as a Sandblasting Engineer, and presently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bayadims Nigeria Enterprise.
His ascension to the Unuevboro’s post, many have said, places much responsibility on his shoulders to tackle security concerns and developmental challenges bothering on the Jeddo community. The Elders-in-Council and Jẹddo citizens now expect the impact the appointment of Solo will bring to their community.
Meanwhile, speaking shortly after he was confirmed Unuevboro at the Aghwale Edion of Jẹddo community, Solo, whose installation ceremony comes up on the 11th of February at the same Aghwale Edion, said he will do everything within his capacity to move the community to greater heights.
